Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel are engaged, the singer-actor’s grandmother, Sadie Bomar, has confirmed.
“He called me on Christmas Day and told me he’s engaged,” Bomar told the website Gossip Cop. She said her famous grandson told her not to talk about the news “until after the holidays.”
Us magazine’s initial report this week said Timberlake, 30, popped the question during a snowboarding trip in Wyoming in late December. But Bomar said the couple were in Montana.
She added that she’s “so happy” for the couple, and that “the family loves Jessie . . . she’s a very sweet girl.”
Bomar also discussed the engagement on “The Wendy Williams Show.”
Don’t expect Timberlake and Biel to openly discuss their relationship anytime soon. In Vanity Fair last year, Timberlake called the actress “the single-handedly most significant person in my life.” But he added: “I don’t want to say much more, because I have to protect things that are dear to me — for instance, her.”
